It’s official. Everyone, even non-Orioles fans, has been waiting to know “when do we get to see Manny Machado play again after that horrific knee accident?” Well the news from the Baltimore Orioles camp Thursday was that all restrictions have been lifted by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who performed Machado’s reconstructive knee surgery. Machado was able to go to his re-scheduled appointment, which was supposed to be last week, Thursday morning.
The 21-year old third baseman is a defensive ace and he made the All-Star team in his first full season in the majors. Did I mention he can hit too? Machado played in 156 games before twisting his knee in a game against Tampa Bay. It was a shame that he couldn’t finish the season on a happier note but that happy note came finally Thursday.
