Too Funny! Find out why Giants' Matt Cain was Placed on the DL!! (really it's hilarious)

Apparently Matt Cain is no chef. He cut his index finger making a sandwich and insisted that he would be able to pitch in his scheduled start Monday. The Giants even announced him as the starting pitcher as late as this morning! But by the end of the day Matt Cain is going on the disabled list because he can't even make a himself a sandwich! Anibal Sanchez goes on the 15-day DL

Getty Images
The Detroit Tigers’ Anibal Sanchez is a very underrated starter as he has to pitch third behind the reigning Cy YoungAward winner Max Scherzer and the team’s ace Justin Verlander. Sanchez, however, is very good. In 2013 he led the American League in ERA just beating out the Oakland Athletics’ Bartolo Colon (2.65) with an ERA of 2.57. He also finished fourth in the Cy Young Award voting last season.
So the Tigers losing their third starter, a would-be ace on any other team, might be an issue. Luckily for them Sanchez’s stint on the disabled list is only going to be 15 days due to a lacerated middle finger.

Chris Sale to Go on the 15-Day DL. Is he Actually one of the Lucky Ones?

Getty Images
It was announced Monday night that White Sox pitcher Chris Sale was headed for the 15-day disabled list. Unlike the long list of pitchers before him, however, he does not have ligament damage but a flexor strain. In 2014 that is especially good news for a pitcher suffering from elbow soreness. It makes him extremely lucky, but let’s back up a little.
On Thursday Sale threw a career high 127 pitches in a performance in which he and his opponent, Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester, both took no-hitters into the sixth inning. Lester and the Red Sox ended up victorious and Sale ended up with a lingering soreness in his left arm. Over the weekend it was made clear by the White Sox manager Robin Ventura that Sale would not be available for his next schedule start Tuesday.
