Bo Knows: Sends Advice Russell Wilson's Way

When given advice from easily the best two-sport athlete of all time, it is probably a good idea to listen. Bo Jackson told CSNChicago Tuesday,

“Stick to what got [Wilson] in the headlines, not baseball. Twenty-five or 30 years ago when I did it, I’m not trying to say anything negative about other athletes, but the talent pool wasn’t that deep. In this day in age, with all the high-tech training, computer-engineered workouts and the proper food and diet, if you try to concentrate on two sports, I guarantee you’re going to ride the bench in both because the talent is that deep. Stick to whatever sport you’re comfortable with and let everything else go.”

NFL: Former Dallas Cowboy DeMarcus Ware Signs with Denver Broncos

Three days ago the Dallas Cowboys released Demarcus Ware, one of the best defensive players in Cowboys franchise history. Ware was drafted in 2005 and compared, by then coach Bill Parcels, to Lawrence Taylor.

Ware put up 117 sacks in his nine years as a Cowboy and was selected to the Pro-Bowl every year from 2006-2012. He had a career low six sacks in 2013 but he missed the first three games of the season with a quadriceps strain. Ware also had a string of 11 seasons in which he had at least 11 sacks. He had a career high 20 sacks in 2008 and almost did it again in 2011 with 19.5 sacks. Ware had three consecutive 15-sack seasons. The only football player ever to have more is NFL Hall of Famer, Reggie White who had five consecutive 15-sack seasons.

Anna Kendrick IS the shit!!

I hardly share non sports stuff ... but this is kinda sports and it's related to BEER! Which is one of the best things on the planet! And seriously if you don't LOVE Anna Kendrick (almost as much as Jen Lawrence) then you definitely are crazy! I LOVE HER! SHE'S SO GREAT (except in Twilight etc ... those movies sucked total ass. Almost as much as all four books I wasted time reading but at least I tried them before saying they sucked ...but yeah, the movies may have been better if she had been Bella but probably not .... anyways ...she rocks!! I hope she is somehow in Pitch Perfect 2!! Pitch Perfect is like one of the funniest movies ever!! LOVE IT!)

NFL: Jets, Rex Ryan Agree on Multi-Year Extension

Check it out guys! It is my second NFL article in a month! I must be branching out of my comfort zone! Woohoo! LOL!

It’s official, well almost, Jets’ head coach Rex Ryan is no longer a lame duck. Although it was confirmed in December by the Jets’ owner, Woody Johnson, that he intended to keep Ryan on for the 2014 season, thus leaving Ryan to coach into the last year of his contract, it appears that things have changed. It has been reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Ryan and the Jets have come to an agreement on a multi-year contract extension. The details of the contract are not yet public but what is known is that Ryan will be with the Jets for at least the next three years.

Ryan was hired in 2009, taking on a Jets team that was coming of of consecutive non-playoff seasons. In the next two seasons he led he Jets to two straight AFC Championship games, losing one to Indianapolis and the other to Pittsburgh. In 2011, expectations for the Jets were high but they ended up at what was then a disappointing 8-8 season. The 2012 season brought about more disappointment for the Jets. The signing of quarterback Tim Tebow became a huge distraction and when quarterback Mark Sanchez played, he had an alarming number of turnovers. The Jets finished the 2012 season at 6-10.

Kinda Off my Blog Topic but I Wrote About Football! Who knew?

So, I took a chance and wrote a little football article for Sports Unbiased on the Redskins hiring Jay Gruden as their new head coach. I LOVE all sports! Football comes in second to the obvious, then Basketball and then Hockey but I usually like to write about what I know which of course is pretty evident if you have ever seen my blog or status updates on my Facebook Page or Twitter Page. Anyway, I had once partaken in a collaborative article on NFL running backs for SU and no one had stepped up to take the story so I thought ... why not? What can it hurt to try? And actually it has gotten good reviews from the editors and public so I decided to put it on my blog! Sorry it's not about baseball or more specifically the A's who Sports Illustrated said would win the World Series in 2014 in their article: Top Ten Predictions for the 2014 Baseball Season ...
